I've got a friend who always starts humming:
"Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,Here I am, stuck in the middle with you"(from the 1972 song by
Stealers Wheel)when he finds himself in the midst of idiots.
Me, when I find myself surrounded, I usually
whistle the scarecrow song from
The Wizardof Oz. You know. . .
"I could while away the hoursConferrin' with the flowersConsultin' with the rainAnd my head, I'd be scratchin'While my thoughts were busy hatchin'If I only had a brain.". . .as in, if I only had a brain, I wouldn't be here
with all of these idiots.
Alas, we all have those moments where we
find ourselves surrounded and must try to
make the best of it.
Better, of course, to be surrounded by starlets. . .
