The Varsity Drag Dress Miasma

June Allyson
This post started as merely an appreciation of the great dress that June Allyson wore in the Varsity Drag number from Good News (1947), and then it sort of devolved into a heavy-breathing study of her petite (5'1") long-waisted (99-pound) figure with its well-turned legs and peep-toe heels, and then...well...
...it just kind of ended with pictures of June before she got all sensible with those 1950s short hair styles. Hey, I just like her, okay?

Love Her! I loved her in THE OPPOSITE SEX....i realize no one liked it because it was 50s..but the 50s are one of favorite decades and I just think that it was nice for its time. The original women is untouchable bu the opposite sex was still a good movie to me. esp since some of my favorite girls were there JOAN COLLINS, ANN "GORGEOUS GAMS" MILLER...THE QUEEN OF OOOMPH!, ANN SHERIDAN!

Show me a red blooded man who wouldn't like her and I will show you a pig that flys while singing "They call the wind meriah"
