Nefretiri

Anne Baxter
In Cecile B. Demille's 1956 film, The Ten Commandments, Anne Baxter plays an Egyptian queen named Nefretiri, who is based on a real queen named Nefertari, who is not to be confused with Nefertiti, who was like the mother-in-law of King Tut.

Anyway, DeMille dressed Anne Baxter in several marvelously semi-transparent gowns, which you can see in the clip below.

Certain strategically lighted publicity photos (not those shown here) accidentally revealed too much of Anne Baxter's anatomy, and these negatives became very popular among Hollywood's darkroom employees. I don't have any of those pictures to show you, but I found this cool little slide show about Anne Baxter.

By the way, Cecile B. DeMille had his first heart attack while working on The Ten Commandments. He died three years later.
